Mr. Clayton is a native of Alexander City, Alabama and follows in his father's footsteps as a lawyer. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from Auburn University. Mr. Clayton was active with the student government association during his undergraduate studies and maintains his involvement as a Life Member of the Auburn University Alumni Association. He continues to give guest lectures each semester to Auburn students.

Mr. Clayton received his Juris Doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Mr. Clayton also studied International Comparative Law at the University of Durham in Northumberland, England. His law school studies were heavily focused on trial techniques and procedures in both state court and national forums. Mr. Clayton's legal education is further complimented by his practical work experience during law school, focusing primarily on medical malpractice and wrongful death cases.
