Farris, Riley & Pitt LLP represents Plaintiffs in two lawsuits against Pennsylvania-based Allied Barton Security Services, LLC. One lawsuit alleges violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and seeks certification under FLSA Section 216(b) as a nationwide collective action. Plaintiffs claim Allied Barton failed to properly pay its employees for all hours worked. Additionally, the Plaintiffs claim they were not paid overtime for all hours worked in excess of forty in a work week. A second lawsuit was filed and alleges violations of the California Labor Code and the California Business and Professions Code. Included in the California lawsuit are claims for missed meal and rest periods, improper overtime compensation, and unfair business practices. The California lawsuit seeks certification as a class action for all California security guard employees working for Allied Barton.

The lawsuit alleging violations of California State law has been filed in the Superior Court for Los Angeles County, California. It has been assigned case number: 2:10-cv-04989-RSWL-JEM.
