What are some misconceptions about tort reform?

There are a lot of misconceptions about tort reform. We’ve heard it for years and years and years. The fact is, in the state of Alabama, the laws are such that Alabama is one of the best places in the country to do business, and is rated as one of the best places in the country to do business. That’s why you have all of these auto manufacturers and other suppliers coming into Alabama. They wouldn’t come into Alabama if it were true that Alabama was not a good place to do business.

So, while people may hear the term “tort reform” and that our tort system needs to be reformed, the fact is that it’s a good system. It’s a fair system, and Alabama is a great place to do business.
