What do I need to know about a law firm before hiring one?

When hiring a lawyer, you need to know that lawyer’s track record, or that law firm’s track record. You need to know whether or not they get settlements day in and day out that are good settlements. Or verdicts that are good verdicts. If they do not try these types of cases day in and day out and that particular lawyer that’s handling your case does not try your case, the insurance company is not going to respect you. They’re not going to respect that lawyer, and they’re not going to give you the highest possible settlement for your case, and that is the goal. That is the job of any attorney that represents you, is to get you as much as you possibly can and that you deserve in your case.

How Much is My Case Worth?

This is an extremely difficult question to answer. The value of a case is based on a wide range of criteria including:

The extent of your injuries
Your inability to work / loss of earnings capacity
Your age
Past medical bills
Future medical bills
Pain and Suffering
Whether injuries are temporary or permanent
The insurance coverage of the other party
The identity and financial condition of the other party
and other factors.

How Do I Know if I Have a Case?

To have a personal injury case, you must have suffered an injury, and that injury had to be at least partially the fault of another. The injury can be physical or non-physical depending upon the case and the basis of the lawsuit. Invasion of privacy, assault, infliction of emotional distress or an attack on your reputation are examples of injuries that are non-physical.
