A consumer class action is where a group of consumers who’ve all purchased the same item, which turns out to be faulty or broken or can cause injuries, come together as one group and file one lawsuit against the company who made or produced that item.
A lot of times, consumers will come together as a group because it’s more efficient for the courts. It’s often more efficient for the lawyers and the clients to come together in one lawsuit rather than having many small lawsuits scattered all over.
